Julie established the 'Survivors as Teachers' initiative with Adelaide University Medical Students in 2012, and this has continued to grow in capacity each year.
She is an ongoing member of the Cancer Voices cycling group since its inception in Oct 2008, and core member of the annual Cancer Voices Challenge Ride organising group.
She is an active consumer representative on a number of state and national committees and advisory groups including the SA Cancer Clinical Network
, CareSearch
Palliative Care Knowledge Network, Cancer Directory Website, PoCoG/ PC4 Clinical Trials - Community Advisory Group, Australasian GastroIntestinal Trials - Consumer Advisory Panel, and Australian Institute of Health and Welfare Cancer Data Monitoring Advisory Group.
She provides a consumer voice on projects including the SA Statewide Survivorship Framework, and Return to Work after Cancer
.
She contributes her project skills and background in health, research, epidemiology and clinical trials (coordinator of multi-centred as well as all phases of clinical trials) to the CVSA Executive Team.
Julie produces the Cancer Voices SA eBulletins, manages the website, and manages core functions of the CVSA Executive Team.
