Activity since the Summit

Since the 2009 LIVESTRONG Summit (Sep 09 to Dec 09), Cancer Voices SA has made the following progress:

  1. Cycle for Cancer – Community rides
Instead of establishing a 'one-off' cycling event with cancer awareness as a key objective, the Cancer Voices Cycling Team have decided they 'turn this commitment around' to ride in a series of cycling events, throughout the year.  We commence the year with riders in the Ride Like CrazyRide Like Crazy and Tour Down Under Community Challenge in January 2010, in addition to monthly training rides. New members are joining the team and our numbers are growing! Hear what some of our cycling team members say about riding for Cancer Voices SAriding for Cancer Voices SA.
  2. Australian Aboriginal cancer conversations
We have been meeting with Aboriginal organisations, leaders and key representatives. News on funding submissions is pending.
  3. Australian Cancer Consumers Charter
Networking has commenced with national cancer organisations and international organisations who have 'lead the way' already on this.
  4. On-line cancer advocacy in Australia
News on funding submissions is pending.
