Our new website

A Community Grant from Westpac enabled Cancer Voices SA to develop a much-needed new website.  Sadly we were not able to complete this before Chris Christensen, the Chair of Cancer Voices SA, passed away in October 2020. Chris applied for the Westpac Community Grant. Chris also led much of the discussion to design the new website HomePage, layout and our 2020-2025 Strategic Plan.

Our new website enables us to showcase our achievements, share up-to-date information and engage with our members (its free to join) via our Online Groups and face-to-face activities.
We aim to increase the depth and breath of engagement with people affected by cancer by increased awareness and access through mobile and online platforms.

We are a unique organisation, being led by cancer survivors and carers, who are all volunteers.
Alongside our serious advocacy activities, we also have fun, encourage physical activity and information-sharing through our community cycling, walking and walk/n/talk-with-researchers groups.

We use our personal experiences, insights and networks to advocate for system level change to benefit people affected by cancer.
We work with health services; policy, research, health care professionals; educators and students.
We also use our personal interests and skills to lead activities and action on issues of concern.

It has been a challenge to acknowledge all who have contributed in so many different ways to Cancer Voices SA since its inception in 2007.  We certainly have come a very long way since the official launch of Cancer Voices SA in November 2007 …read the speech by Ashleigh Moore OAM, our founding Chair.

Cancer Voices SA thank Westpac for the funding to develop our new website.
Thank you to Soren Christensen, the Westpac staff Ambassador who encouraged and championed our efforts.
Thank you Cancer Voices Exec Team members and especially to Eric Browne for a huge amount of volunteer work, time and effort put into building the website.
Thank you to Webcare, Bart and Kirsten for design and guidance to get us started.
Thank you Chris Christensen – we think you would be pleased with this result.
